Still at it. With help from Wayne.
Noah. Similar to the Preserver or Brainiac in the Superman Animated Series. Except that his body devours its intended prisoners-- mermaids, manticores, etc-- keeping them safe in the garden of Eden/other world that lies beneath his ribcage.
It's with that drive in mind that he stalks Tisandra, well after the group has taken refuge in Clarence's circus. He befriends her, seperates her from the group or turns her against them. Only then does she discover his agenda of preservation/rescue.
Once Noah is defeated from his aims, she's also the first to stick up for him.
Tightening screws:

Clarence doesn't get his ride through the Mojave Desert from Bobby and the girls. Rather, he offers a pair of rednecks money to drive him through it, who end up robbing him and dumping him off in the middle of Death Valley.
With little water and only what he managed to keep away from his muggers, he ends up trying to hitch rides to no avail. It's then, while camping out late at night under the stars, that he encounters a particularly strange visitor.
With glowing green eyes.
That gives me a chance to build a kind of rapport between Clarence and another character, under dire circumstances, forging a bond between the two and setting up the contact of them both with Bobby and the girls later when they see Clarence trying to hitch a ride (Rossum hiding until it's secured)
